Nandu Resam / Crab soup is very healthy and also good enough to boost your immunity. Crabs are considered to be high in protein and low in fat & calories. This is my grandmothers Nandu Resam recipe loved by all in my families. Crab soup is good home remedy for common cold.

Steps to Prepare

    • 5 crab
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1 tsp fennel seeds
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 2 fresh chilli (red)
    • 1 curry leaves stalk(s)
    • 10 shallot(s)
    • ginger
    • 2 tomato(es)
    • 1 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp coriander powder
    • 1 water
    • salt

Ingredients 4/5 Crabs cleaned cut in halves. Oil - 2 tbsp Fennel seeds - 1 tsp Pepper corns - 1 tsp crushed to garnish Dry Red chillies - 2 Optional Few Curry leaves Shallots - 10 ( 5 to blend and 5 sliced) Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp Tomatoes - 2 chopped for blending Turmeric powder - 1 tsp Coriander powder - 1 tsp Required water Required salt Chopped Coriander leaves for garnish Blend Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Pepper corns - 2 tsp Garlic pods - 5 Few curry leaves Once this is blended add in half the shallots chopped tomatoes and blend togather.

Heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel, add in the fennel seeds, onions, ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, turmeric powder and coriander powder and keep stirring and add the crabs sprinkle salt to taste and cook for 5 mins.

Add in the blended ingredients all together to the vessel and mix it well. Cover and cook in medium flame for 15 mins or until the crab is cooked well. Sprinkle coriander leaves and the crushed pepper and off the stove.

Serve hot as such or with plain steamed rice / jeera rice or toasted bread...
