Nearly there... !!!.. Still need lots more practice.. getting temperature right took some time on hotplate cooker as not easy to control temp. Did not have any baking soda, which will use next time as will probably make the inside a bit more fluffy.. But otherwise came out better than previous attempt.. J

I recently made Sugee Cake, classically an Eurasian staple. It was my father’s favourite cake. I was thrilled that it turned out well.

Hello everyone I have spent this month learning how to make bread. It is so rewarding and relaxing. The homemade bread is much tastier and has a better texture than commercial bread. Plus it is so much cheaper. I have many photos but I can only post one, it seems. That one is a cheesy garlic bread.

Chocolate cheesecake. It’s a huge cake and very rich. If you make this you should do it for a Lethe crowd otherwise you will have leftovers in your fridge for a fortnight!

Used Teans Malaysian prawn noodle soup remaph as base. added onion, boil for 5 mins.. prawns, fish cheeks (add richness from 'fatty' bits and the bones... cooked gently for further 5/7 mins till the fish just cooked through... meantime Steamed, some tenderstem broccoli and beansprouts dipped in boiling water for a 20 seconds or so just to sweeten them a bit and stopped cooking process by running under cold water till cool. Put aside ready for the making of dish. added a few frozen baby okra and half cut fried taofu. then when ready simply reheated the Broccoli beansprouts and some Japanese Udon noodles ( which is nowadays readily avaiable in my supermarket and similar to thick rice noodles ) in boiling water, then contructed the dish with all that Umami flavour.. !!!! Can add fried onions orshallots for extra Malaysian touch ( which I forgot to do yesterday, but will do tonight !!..LOL )

This month I have been experimenting with all kinds of bread and focaccia.
I’m following a YouTube channel called Fast Easy Delicious. All the recipes are wonderful and foolproof.

German Chocolate Cake
This cake is VERY rich but delicious. It’s definitely for special occasions and a large group of people because a small slice is quite enough.
