Harrisdale Kitchen has run out of snacks! Had thought of to continue experimenting with the Prinetti Mini Doughnut Making Kit to make more doughnuts when out of the red-yellow-green-blue, came these cookies!

True to its claim the cookies are crumbly and just melt in the mouth. The Guardian just loves them and gave it a score of 9.5 and 9.5 it is :).

Thank you Nyonya Cooking for this unexpected recipe :)

I love Coke and decided to try this recipe and its very easy. I used Coca-cola zero sugar and it's turned out not that sweet. My kids was surprised to know that Coke was added into the cooking. Then, they just smiled and enjoyed it very much!!

8th Breakfast: Nasi Lemak Daun Pisang (Nasi Lemak in Banana Leaf) [189] [138.7%] [Score: 9.8]

Dish Type: Main
Here the nasi lemak is presented in its barest minimum, wrapped with only one piece of banana leaf. All the banana leaves I bought 3 months ago in the freezer have completely disintegrated. The nasi lemak should be wrapped with newspaper lined with banana leaf. I do not have newspaper and to buy one is “expensive”, AUD3.50. Not worth the money. I do not read newspaper and I certainly do not eat it. There was however, one loose piece of banana leaf around. So, as said in this presentation, the nasi lemak was only wrapped with that piece of banana leaf. Happy that the dish scored a 9.8 :).

Simplicity is the hallmark of a genius. The genius hallmark goes to Nyonya Cooking again!

Dish Type: Dessert

This version of Pengat Pisang is easier to prepare compare to my previous version of Pengat Pisang dengan Sagu dan Gula Merah because we do not have to worry that the sugar would get burned. Palm sugar has the tendency to get burned and become bitter especially when sago is cooked together with the dessert. In this version the sago is prepared separately; it is later added to the dessert. Also, white sugar is used rather than palm sugar.

Vapiano is a German restaurant franchise company that offers Italian fast food. Pasta is an Italian dish. The alternative name Pollo Picante (lit. Spicy Chicken) is Spanish. The dish is certainly not Spicy Chicken but a pasta dish. The correct Spanish translation would be Pasta de Pollo con Chile Dulce. Interestingly, how does the alternative name could be Pollo Picante? One more thing, spicy is always spelt as picante in Spanish. Where does picanté with an accent on the e came from?

One more thing. Cuisine is certainly not American. Pasta is Italian. The alternative name is Spanish. Restaurant is German. The sweet chilli is Asian. So, cuisine is Italian-Spanish-Asian? Please enlighten me, if I’m worth to be enlightened.

BTW, the Guardian gave this dish a 9.8 and 9.8 it is :)

Thank you for this inspiring international dish, Nyonya Cooking :)
